Yes! This "It looks like it mistakenly recognizes the paddle and as such goes to the far left. Just tried in VICE 2.4 - same behaviour." was only my observations on the joystick-issue. The paddle-control was always fine and needed no fixing.

Re: In the making: Arukanoido – an Arkanoid clone

It looks like it mistakenly recognizes the paddle and as such goes to the far left. Just tried in VICE 2.4 - same behaviour. Odd. No effect on the lastest build of VICE. Just added some threshold to the paddle detection. ??? What do you mean? The joystick already worked fine with the fix to "i...

Re: In the making: Arukanoido – an Arkanoid clone

Found another bug that sets the pipe-color (at the border of the screen) to pink instead of light cyan. Basically when the music-player still runs it will dec $900e after you set it to $b0 in your main.asm. You coud probably just set it like this: lda $900e and #$0f ora #@(* light_cyan 16) ; Auxilia...

Re: In the making: Arukanoido – an Arkanoid clone

I think I found the error: "is_using_paddle" is not initialized in the source-code. So whenever by chance this value is not zero on program start, the program will believe you are using paddles.

Re: In the making: Arukanoido – an Arkanoid clone

Looks a little better, but still does not work when I drag and drop the file into VICE. The bat immediately goes to the left and stays there. It works if I do a manual stop/restore before starting. Same behaviour on my VIC-20 with Mega-Cart when I start through the file browser. Somehow the VIA-regi...

Re: In the making: Arukanoido – an Arkanoid clone

Yes, but just checked on the real machine. It works even worse there. Most of the times it does not work at all, even if I stop/restore or sys65017 before starting. Some other times it works. I tried other games and all these work fine. Definitely something fishy going on here... Edit: Just tried wi...

Re: In the making: Arukanoido – an Arkanoid clone

Very nice! Tried it for a little while, here's my bug report: - joystick detection does not work unless run/stop-restore is done before "RUN" when loading from disk. This is probably due to comparing to numerical values instead of set bits? This is a common problem - disk access sets (or e...

Re: Work in progress: REALMS OF QUEST V

Have you thought about 40-column output? Like is possible with MG Text Edit? This would be more eye-friendly and you'd have plenty of room as well. Maybe for ROQ VI :D

Re: ** Greetings from Revision 2017!

I brought my VIC-20 as it is required to show the demo working on the real machine. Also, the demo needed to be recorded, so the real machine was needed for that as well.

Re: Mega-Cart

Is this project officially dead? The website is just empty now. I needed to reinstall SJLOAD on my Mega-Cart and luckily with archive.org and a little help from Google I found this link:

http://mega-cart.com/files/

At least this still works.
