Re: Just got a VIC20, now what? :)

Well I've been doing a bit of a comparison recently, between VIC 20, C64, Dragon 32, and BBC Micro. Now the "Daddies" of that line up are surely the BBC and the C64, but, the mighty VIC has some very good versions of some of the earlier video games. For instance: I think the VIC has the be...

The VIC 20 is brilliant thread

I haven't been here for some time until recently, and I hadn't used my VIC much either. Recently I fished out my Dragon 32 for curiosity, and then I bought a BBC model B. So then I looked at the C64 again, and loaded up some games, and then I turned to the VIC 20, my first, humble computer. And just...

Re: New Release: Tank Battalion

I always thought the Dragon seemed like a good machine back then. I only got one recently, and have been surprised by some of its abilities.
The palette and lack of lower case are its two fundamental flaws.

Re: New Release: Tank Battalion

That looks like it and sounds like it, yes. Like I said before lots of slightly different variants of the same game on the device I have. They all look the same and sound the same, I think it's the layout and difficulty that changes, apart form the editor one. Originally they were probably all one g...

Re: New Release: Tank Battalion

No problem. I'm guessing the famicom and NES versions are the same. I have a NES Clone, which is a 76 Games in 1 type of device, so NES on a chip. It has a cartridge slot on the bottom, which apparently is for Famicom Carts, never tried it though. Of the 76 games, at least 6 of them are Abrams Tank,...

Re: New Release: Tank Battalion

I finally played this on my real VIC 20, it's brilliant, even better than the NES original.
Well done, and thank you.

Re: New release : Super Starship Space Attack (16k)

I finally had a go at this on my real VIC 20. It's a great game, pity I'm rubbish at it. Well, I'll just have to practice!

What a great game, so close to the original.
The best PacMan for the VIC for sure.

Re: Games we want to see

No Vic-20 version to my knowledge. I think a Vic-20 port would be of a similar standard albeit with blockier graphics, perhaps the sound would be better. It might even be possible to port the C64 version replacing the level data (for 22 columns) and the sprites with software sprites. I don't think ...

Re: Games we want to see

Another program I reckon would help the VIC would be a VIC 20 version of Graphic Adventure Creator, or at least Adventure Creator.
32K should be plenty for it, and could possibly see more adventures written, so watch out Scott!

Re: [WIP] International Karate VIC20 [Ultimem]

This looks very cool majieyrick, just what I was imagining, so thanks for all the effort. If I knew how to program or had the time to learn, I would do some of this stuff too. I 've not heard of the Ultimem before, and I don't think I can justify another present for my VIC, not of that expense anywa...

Re: New release : Pentagorat (32k)

I finally got to try this on my real VIC 20. It's brilliant, a real masterpiece. I never thought I'd see an isometric game on the VIC 20.
In due course I will buy a tape copy.
