I think you should stick to the foundation and once that is done, open it up to people who want to add things on top of that, start a blogger or wiki page here or some other collaborative site inviting people to contribute to the VEOS effort. Some of the ambitious ideas here are really more the kind...

Neat - someone should find a way to deliver pedal-power to it via an antique bicycle. :D

Very cool!

I guess I would look at GEOS as a model of what can be done. It would also be neat to be able to run a game or two from the "desktop", even if it is nothing more than a text adventure.

Ian, I'd like them - please send to robinson.mason AT swbell.net

I will host them up on mediafire - I've been putting my commodore stuff up here: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=fb44 ... 0e00c868f6

super - saved me a job. Jeff let me know if anything else is needed e.g. stories. I'm collecting "game fiction" for the C64/VIC-20 so I'd love to see scans of any stories. :D If your scans allow for .PDF conversion that would be best because it would allow the text to be selectable, thoug...

Well there you go! Ha -- maybe someone with repair skills will give me "trade in credit" for my 1541. :)

Wow! I missed the Wiki entirely - I assumed it was more of an internal, site related sort of thing. :)

Fantastic scans!

Dunjonquest Series

Does anyone want to help clear up, review, add a scan and otherwise improve this entry in Wikipedia? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunjonquest_%28series%29#Room_Descriptions I ran across an Atari (only?) Dunjonquest yesterday -- Sorcerer of Siva - does anyone have more details on that one? How about ...

Thanks for the ideas tips anyway guys. I hope to get a working 1541, but if I can find a 1541-II or something else out there I may just sell this as-is to see what I can get for it (investment into a working replacement). I have no attachment to this particular drive, so I won't spend more than it w...

Sadly, I tried different media and swapped out the VIC-20 for my C64 and all I get is the rattle (near the end of the video) - even after running the initialization on both systems. Even used the new Realms of Quest media for the VIC-20 test so I'm confident it's not a media issue. http://www.youtub...

Close -- I think I needed to cut notches or break little angled plastic bits out of the Genesis my brother owned so he could enjoy them back in the States - a pair of fragile tabs that prevented a cartridge from being inserted, something along those lines, but a very simple physical modification.

It's really too bad that your disk drive doesn't work. I think the game should be played on the real hardware. Well, I'm not counting her (my 1541) out yet! Still a couple of things I can try. There is a work-around, however. Before you cash in your gold, buy an item from the store (say for 50 GP)....

Re: Sega MD Genesis carts

I'm looking for any extra Sega MD or Genesis carts. Let me know if you have any you're willing to part with. Foreign language, hacks, bootlegs, and other oddities are also welcome. I used to live in Japan and at one point had quite a collection of Mega Drive games. I'll have to ask around / search ...

Robert, I did go through that process (typing in about 4 lines of commands, right?) -- but good idea, I'll try once more now that I've opened and cleaned her.

Ghislain, thanks for the reply! I missed this response until today. Yep, I got my VIC-20 and was ready to roll with the game - sadly my 1541 drive I've had for my 64 since the 90's but stuck in the closet for a couple of years is out of alignment and my attempts to fix it were for naught. But I'm st...
