Encounter by Pixel - is this actually a game?

I took a look at some games of Pixel recently, they have an interesting presentation, but rather shallow gameplay imho. Encounter was sold with Starquest, but I'm puzzled what it actually is supposed to be - after entering the UFO and getting to the point where the "B" key can be pressed t...

It's in the extras folder, not the games folder. That the taps are there is something quite a few people didn't notice.

Choplifter color change - are there other games allowing it?

I just found out that it's possible to change colors in Choplifter by pressing return, are there other games known to have such a feature?

I'd be interested if someone could dig up the Dragon's Eye version for the PET, there's a C64 version floating around which I believe is a conversion of that. There's also another Temple of Apshai version for Coleco Adam found on the net, but it's marked as hack/patched. Maybe it's a conversion of a...

Wow! That does sound really cool. I have never heard of this game and NEVER seen any reference or clue to it being available for the VIC-20 - despite being an enthusiastic collector of EPYX releases for the VIC. I suspect the original Wikipedia article was wrong. I have an EPYX catalogue from aroun...

If shots are shrunk and filtered, that's probably a leftover from "old times". Or they slipped through, a short time ago, a guy submitted A7800 shots in 320x200 that he had just shrunk from 320x225. I've been only regulary submitting stuff for a year now, though I did contribute a few thin...

I understand it as if the webpage (game database, something like Moby?) in question has a policy to strip unnecessary borders from all screenshots, no matter the system. For systems with a fixed border that never can contain graphics, I'm sure it just can be omitted but the VIC border as mentioned ...

Why remove the borders from the screenshots? They're part of the VIC 20's "look and feel" as far as I'm concerned; without them the screenshots just don't look right to me. If it was up to me I'd leave them, but there might be technical or arguments of consistency which will prevent to ke...

I feared that somebody would bring up the video standards. Thanks for pointing me to the videos. Looking at them and the online emulators, it's looks like it's usually more square than 1.6 in the "text area" , and on a PAL system even more? Eventually those screens of mine will pop ...

So if I'd wanted to remove the borders anyway, and resize like this, it would be more accurate, is this correct? Not necessarily, some programs can modify the border area... so removing it wouldn't give a full picture of what's on the VIC screen. I'd just leave in the border, unless you have a spec...

Some clarification regarding aspect ratio needed here..

Hi, I just tried Vic-20 emulation a short time ago and have wondered about this: I took some screens with Vice (2.1), which are 416x252 in size, which is, according what I've gathered here roughly the correct ratio, if borders are included. But this does not apply to the game area itself. Examples: ...
