Re: how to make an autostart cartridge binary image?

Thank you for your reply!

The procedure for creating the VIC autostart cart I'm sure is very simpliar to the C64 but must differ in details.

Thank for the link - I need a version of that, just for the VIC. I'm surprised how much difficulty I am having trying to locate the details.

how to make an autostart cartridge binary image?

I'm surprisingly not finding any specifics on how to format the first bytes of a cartridge binary image to have it autostart at reset! I have a game I wrote that I would like to burn into an EPROM for use with the cart PCB from TFW8B, but I'm stumped as to how to frame the start of the bytes at $A00...

Mike - thanks for that clarification! I understand now just what exactly I have.

Eslapion - thanks for the offer for the EPROM. I think I'm going to hold out to get the original 325303-01 Hi-ROM though!

Re: for sale: Commodore 1540 Hi-ROM chip: MOS 325303-01

I've attached a photo of the circuit board. I have two other 1540s in various states of repair I purchased, but they all have the 2764 EPROM replacement. So I think what you are saying is that the 325302-01 ROM was the original 1540 ROM, and it was replaced with the 325303-01 ROM image, burned onto ...

Re: for sale: Commodore 1540 Hi-ROM chip: MOS 325303-01

I did finally manage to acquire a 1540. My unit has a 325302-01 ROM, NOT the 325303-01 ROM. Are these different ROMs? Is my ROM an earlier firmware version? Doens't seem like it would be since the drive serial number is 106433 which seems like a fairly late version drive. But maybe that actually is ...

Re: for sale: Commodore 1540 Hi-ROM chip: MOS 325303-01

Hello!

I would like to buy two of these! I have two 1540s both with EPROMs so I am assuming those are upgraded 1541 ROMs.

Re: printer port capture

I'm trying to run my actual real hardware as much as possible, so I'm looking for a hardware solution.

I saw this guys product, but it appears to have been in development for quite some time, so it could be vaporware: retroprinter.com

Hoping for another solution.

printer port capture

I would like to be able to capture the printer port output on my VIC. I'll take any method really - save to SD card, transmit to a serial port on a PC, etc. Anyone ever seen any way to do this?

B/W pallette file for winvice

Anyone have a .vpl pallette file for winvice that approximates a black and white TV? I only had a black and white TV for my VIC and I was trying to reproduce that effect. I haven't had any luck finding one laying around a google search.

risk type game

Hi guys, I have been trying to remember and locate a Risk-like game that I use to play on my VIC. I believe that it was based on the VIC40 40 column operating system that Ahoy! published. It was such a fun game! I even remember making printouts of maps to plan attacks. Nerdy stuff, but really fun. A...

Re: Gamebase20 version 3!

thanks, that worked! But unfortunately I am seeing a lot of file not found error messages, maybe half of the games (winvice 2.4). Most of the games are file not founds actually. But some do load correctly, for example 3d man loads but 3d labyrinth does not. I attached a screen capture. Any ideas? I ...

Re: Gamebase20 version 3!

I am puzzled how to actually install this. I don't see any executables in the download database zip file, so I installed gamebase 1.3. But in 'gamebase toolbox' (which is apparently the database setup program) I don't see any way to import the Vic20_v03.mdb? I am missing something, help!
