I voted the "all" button, which still didn't quite cover what I've got. Here's the breakdown:
3K Commodore RAM exp,
3K in Super Expander,
8K Commodore
8K in 40/80 video adapter
16K third party (lessee, Batteries Included, I think)
32K RamMaster

Does the 15xx series drives use FM or MFM? They use GCR, not MFM. One of the reasons that pc-style controllers cannot read commodore disks. In FM encoding, every other transition on the disk is a clock bit used to time data but which itself carries no data. This means half the transitions on the di...

Any one of the connectors you posted tinyurls to will work. For my own use, I typically prefer the type with eyelets unless I have a specific reason to want something else, like solder-tail (tubes with holes in the end) or wire-wrap. Something else to note is that if you want to mount them on a boar...

Radio Shack (a.k.a. Radio Shaft, a.k.a. Chicken Shack) sucks now far more than they ever have in the past. They have still not given up carrying all parts, but what's left is little more than false promise. Less than two years ago they'd order anything you wanted and have it shipped to your house, e...

This connector/edge card combo is widely used industrially. There are a lot of types of signal conditioning equipment that use it. If you know of a factory getting rid of process control instrumentation, or a lab that's getting rid of some signal conditioning stuff, you've got a good chance of turni...

Were you trying to draw something like this? Yes, I'll add the code tags to the post above. Thanks. I was putting the finishing touches on a line drawing of the schematic shortly after I posted the above when my Powerbook's hard drive went bye-bye on me. Needless to say the drawing is gone, but at ...

/OE isn't quite the inverse of /WE, but you can sort of treat it that way. You can feed an address to read from and a /CE to the IC, then use /OE to make sure that it's only putting data on the bus when it's expected, rather than as soon as it decodes the address and fatches the data. If the chip's ...

I do pretty much as Schema does, except that I run the leads to another DIP socket that I plug into the programmer's ZIF socket. Though what I have mainly done is purchase a programmer that accepts the ICs I'm using. I have two programmers, a slightly older model that does pretty much everything pri...

The spacing on the fingers is 0.156 inches. Unfortunately most everything else made since uses a spacing that's narrower, like 0.1 inches. Otherwise we could be cutting down fingers off of PC expansion boards. The Vector plugboards that I use are pretty expensive. I was lucky that I got a supply in ...

I've got multi-language support, fonts, etc. I'm on Mac, which has excellent multi-language support. I can enter Cyrillic, and it looks fine, until I click Submit at which point the board (apparently) turns it all into question marks. It even did it to the Cyrillic where I quoted you, though your or...

I wouldn't recommend using WD-40, it will turn into gum over time and ruin the print head. A bit of a light machine oil, maybe, but not WD-40 or any of the similar sprays. I would possibly consider using Eezox or Break Free CLP, but not WD-40. Cleaning the print head with some isopropyl alcohol woul...
