I think you may have inadvertently posted both edits of your message. It's weird because I noticed that Centallica did the same thing in this thread . Anyway, I'm fairly sure his PS/2 came with VGA from the factory because the VGA connector was on the board. Perhaps later editions came with VGA fro...

Of all the PC models sold commercially, my favorite was the PS/2 Model 30. Mine too! I always thought they looked cool and the keyboards were (are) excellent. Unfortunately, I've never owned one. A roommate of mine had one and I had many opportunities to use it. It felt so grown up. Our memories of...

I liked REALBASIC pretty well, I used it mainly under OS/2 but it was the same under both OSes. The free ones are decent, each has a different philosophy that has guided its implementation. So far, however, I haven't found any that are the right fit as far as programming for distribution to someone ...

the first time i read this topic, it had 'double entendre' all over it   One of my engineering teachers had us do an engineering analysis of certain portions of the human anatomy as an object lesson in just how sophisticated design can be. There was a comment he'd make: "Just rememb...

What I did here is only carry out my interpretation of Schema's design. Argue with him and blast him, not me. ... And if HE tells me I am on the wrong track with HIS idea then I will modify. I'd like to remind everyone that I have no formal background in electronics. I just try to pick up what I ca...

Sorry, Eslapion, you're still not getting what I'm suggesting. Never mind, though. Here's something you might consider as a way of eliminating the '273 and power-on reset circuit. I'll be referencing your latest schematic (schema_multicartv12.pdf): Put appropriate pull-ups/pull-downs on the IA13-19 ...

I'm really impressed with the quality of these images. If any VIC games had implemented that back in the 80s, people would have flipped! I was thinking pretty much the same thing. Even if they'd just been used with fades in a sort of cutscene, I think it would really have knocked people's socks off...

One time I found an old Arcade machine cabinet with the guts ripped out. Some poker game. Our mother wouldn't let us bring it inside though, and it rotted and fell apart. Then we had to throw it away.... That's too bad. People pay good money, even just for gutted cabinets. Of course it would have b...

The XT was last decent "PC" to own. I agree, sort of. Of all the PC models sold commercially, my favorite was the PS/2 Model 30. It's a sort of all-in-one super-XT. Nice MCGA graphics, easy to add an internal VGA board and rewire it to the built-in monitor so that you can have VGA, and it...

My handheld systems are an HP200LX, a Sony Clie SJ-22, and my Nokia 3650 cellphone. My kids have a collection of Game Boys, but I play the games on the Cube with the GBA adapter, it saves my eyes from too much eyestrain. It's getting tough to use my beloved 200LX these days with the way my eyes are ...

That sounds like a good idea for the touch-screen! I'd offer to send you an OS disk for the RS/6000 so that you can reload it with software, but I got rid of all my "AIX and PAINS" stuff some time ago. I hope you've got access to some software for it, they're pretty good machines.

OK, then why don't you post the detail about the code that the 6502 is executing that causes this, or the electrical conditions if that's the case? I'd like to know about it. Based on what I know, I still think you're fighting the timing of the 6502, so I'd like to put that to rest if you can help ...

Neat, I've never seen that packaging before! There was a C64 in a winged box inside a sleeve once, but it had another box with add-ons shoved in the sleeve with it, the sleeve was about half again as long as the ones you show. It came out many years after the Vic-20 had departed the retail market. I...
