Can you use any of the parts on a two-prong VIC on an ordinary VIC-20?

Thanks. That would be a great help.

Also, would there be any benefit to using machine language routines for the animation sequences? i.e. in terms of speed and RAM space.

I've already got two copies of the Programmer's Reference Guide, but we may well do business on the VIC Revealed as well as a few of the other books you've just listed.

Let's not go down that road. This is exactly the kind of shit-stirring the OP is talking about. I noticed that the thread is about eighteen months old. Let's keep it that way.

Sorry my mild-mannered jest about your little courtship has become so inflammatory. I'll not bring it up in future.

I have to say that I totally disagree with this. Apart from the newly weds in the moderation thread, I've found Denial to be a very friendly and welcoming community. All the members I've spoken with have been tremendously helpful and informative. There's the odd bit of mild teasing, but it's all in ...

Football Manager

Am I the only one who thinks the VIC is in desperate need of a decent football management sim? At least, one that compares favourably with the Spectrum version of Football Manager and has Tottenham in it? Although it would require the full 32k expansion (16k was a grave mistake on Addictive's part),...

Insult aside, I quite like it as well. No insult intended. The prices that VIC-20s (and old computers in general) are selling for are shocking, especially in comparison to a few years ago. If you're happy, it was money well spent. I think it safe to assume the seller is happy too. There are a lot o...

That's pretty much what I expected to pay in the end. The other day I picked up a boxed, fully-working C64 for £5.50 plus postage. It all comes out in the wash.

I haven't made any adaptions, and so far as I know, my VIC is standard apart from a German VC-20 in the top left corner. I didn't know of any deviations in power supply. I just plugged the C64 one in and it worked a treat. The OP would be better advised to follow Carlsson's judgement in this matter....

I've just started using a second wave C64 lead on my VIC and it works okay.

You might try looking for a C64 power supply. The VIC is compatible with most C64 leads and peripherals. Ebay is probably your best bet.
