The only thing I would've changed would be a more robust paddle control system so that the chip didn't become flaky in years to come. I don't know what kind of foresight that would've involved but that's the only thing that frustrates me about the machine. I love paddles and it's so bloody annoying ...

Like most here, the Vic was my first computer and so will always have a place in my heart for that reason alone but there is more to it than just simple nostalgia... I was lucky as when I got my Vic my friends each had different machines so it was easy to compare (though, of course, there was always...

I say update. The last release was three years ago and presumably 0.3 will be around for quite some time before 0.4 or whatever. That's not a bad timescale to expect people to upgrade to newer builds of software... I mean, it's not like iTunes and it's daily updates is it? :P BTW: Are there any rumb...

I'm looking forward to checking out the reviews.

Have you had a chance to record a gameplay demo yet? I'm really interested to hear the sound effects. :)

Also, if I was to buy this and a copy of Mayhem what the postage cost to the UK? Do you combine postage?

Thanks, P :)

Yes. My Infocom interpreter.
Yes, but nobody else has access to that (yet!). :P

Derailing the thread even more, here's the WIP thread for Doom: http://sleepingelephant.com/ipw-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=4889 I need to get back and finish it really. Yes. Yes you do! Anyway, back on topic. :) Have you bought anything yet? If not, here's my tuppence worth. I'd recommend keep...

So, everybody's happy with the quality of the scan itself. If so, I can scan in another at the weekend.

I don't have every issue but maybe if I scan in the ones I have it'll encourage someone else to step forward with the missing issues... or maybe even sell me them! :)

Ah, a thing of beauty - and with the sexy paddles too. Did you play it? Did the paddles suffer 'Vic Jitter'? Just being nosey. :)

Thanks for the posts. It's always nice to see videos from these events. It makes me feel like I'm there.

Was there any Vic (or TED) goodness at the con or was it all C64/Amiga?

Test Scan of Vic Computing Issue 1.3

So after many a year and a lot of searching around I've finally got my hands on some issues of Vic Computing. Unfortunately, I don't have the first 2 issues but I'll keep looking! I have a pretty bad Epson AIO printer and I've used that to scan in my earliest issue (1.3). Without further ado here it...

So, is the hope that this will be a future standard for Vic cart images? Will that mean that emulation will have to support both old and new formats? Does this affect the future of GB20 at all?

Just curious. :)

That is pretty cool. I presume there was a little flashback for you. I had a similar experience when I saw an old Spectrum in my museum. I'm not a Speccy fan by any stretch but it still took me back to the days of going around to my firend's house to play Harrier Attack... Thanks for the photos. :)
