Re: couldn't resist

Yes, it is Dutch and I don't speak this language. But since it is a language very close to German (it's like you are totally drunk and try to speak and write German - no offense my Dutch friends  ), I tried to give you a translation as good as I can (surely improvable, it was very low-res and...

Also the two other programs are very nice. The screensaver clock make me thinking about a extension for the FE3 firmware to support "screensaver" after a time of inactivity ... Feel free to copy/borrow (I do not have to say that, do I?). Most of the clock code is spent on drawing the big ...

Re: FE3 Inspector: browse FE3 memory

-NV, a file navigator for IEC devices. I like the interface you have used for your program, if you want you may try my similar program, CBM-Filebrowser Hey! That's cool, with the moving screen. Never thought of that one. Also, we both tried to solve the multi-load strategy. Let's make a deal here: ...

FE3 Inspector: browse FE3 memory

Hi, all. I have written a memory browser for the Final Expansion 3: FE3 Inspector. http://vic20.nl/site/images/stories/software/finspector/fe3i_hexmode.png It is a memory and mode browser for the Final Expansion 3, so it enables you to get a 'feel' of how it works. You can view/navigate/edit data in...

VIC 20 serial numbering

From this thread: http://sleepingelephant.com/ipw-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=3903 I came away with the impression that not much is known of the serial numbering schemes used by Commodore in their various factories. The only way to find out is to get the biggest sample of numbers around, so I in...

Looking for a VIC 20 kernal ROM (PAL)

After swapping some chips I found out the reason why one of my VICs is not working: it has a faulty kernal rom. It is the kernal ROM for a PAL VIC20, number 901486-07.

Does by any chance someone here happen to have a spare lying around?

You better compare them the other way round: a C64 is a souped up VIC-20. :)

Thanks. It's a two-prong one. 3.15A is a bit of an an exotic value isn't it? I assume 4A is close enough, beats metal foil :)

Vic 20 fuse rating question

The fuse of my vic-20 was blown but I could not read its rating. My first attempt with a new 1A fuse did not survive long, now I have put in a 4A fuse. Is that the right one, or is it oversized?

Re: ML Monitor and assembler

I use the acme 6502 assembler on linux. It's simple to compile from source and for windows it comes pre-compiled.

And ofcourse VICE for testing. Transfer to the real VIC trough my U1541.

Just for those who might not know in relation to using the VIC-20 with the 1541U, here is a great little app for navigating the contents I mentioned that here . It's definitely worth checking out. Hi. Yup, that's me, the author. (Or should I say: "I wrote that!" 8) ) The app is feature co...

Hi All, Time for me to de-lurk: my name is zutman, 'zut' being dutch slang for boring stuff/garbage. Sounds a lot better than garbage man. It's nice to see on this forum that I am not the only one 'in denial'. :) Dad bought me (and my brothers) a vic-20 when I was eleven, must be '81. From the VIC-2...
