Re: Mega-Cart external menu ver. 1.0

It allows using an external drive based on sd2iec firmware to load new/updated items published on new Mega-Cart revision 22. Sorry for a few dumb questions: - I don't quite understand. Does this allow the MegaCart to load items off and external SD2IEC drive? Or does it allow the user to flash the M...

Re: VIC1011A RS232C Interface

Wait....I don't understand. Jameco is a vendor of all sorts of electronics parts. Are they currently selling this product? Can you provide a link? (sorry, you didn't state whether this is an old item or a still available item from their website). Why would they be selling a product intended for a co...

Cool,

You should create a DENIAL VIC-20 WIKI page for this piece of hardware.

Re: IEEE-488

Interesting that one of the boards says "VC-40". I wonder if there was meant to be any connection with the proposed "VIC-40". I doubt it but since the VIC-20 was also called the VC-20 in Germany it makes me wonder: https://www.floodgap.com/retrobits/ckb/secret/vic40.html http://w...

Re: Vic20 user guide manual

Yes, I've seen that box in Canada (sleeve box) and also the older corrugated hinged lid box.
However I think there was a specific Canadian box too, as I remember one with the Calgary Olympics logo on it (I'd have to check my collection). It might have been the C64 box though - can't remember.

Re: Vic20 user guide manual

See Orion70's French manual, which seems to have been published for the France French market, made me think that in all my VIC-20 collecting time spent here in Canada I've never come across a French (Canada) manual. The cartridge games from Commodore Canada all came with bilingual instruction manual...

Re: Where can I get VIC-1515 Printer Paper?

Is it possible it was made for European A4 paper size tractor feed paper? A4: 8-1/4 x 11-3/4 in (without paper tractor feed strips attached). Plus the tractor strips on either size would mean the paper with strips attached would be about 9-1/4" wide. Would that fit? If so maybe you could order ...

Re: Pet Style Keyboard

We know the PET keyboards were present on the VIC-20 at its release in 1980 (and the VIC-1001 in Japan). All I can tell you is from my own personal experience: when I got my VIC-20 for Christmas in 1982 it had a Helvetica type keyboard. So that tells me that two years after the launch Commodore (at ...

Re: Temple of Apshai box art

I've seen the box you have before, but I'm not sure exactly when EPYX changed from the earlier style (which is yours I believe) to the later style.
If you can you should add your box picture to the Denial WIKI article on Temple of Apshai.

Great exhibit - I see you even have a Commodore phone (which as far as I am aware was only sold in Canada - correct me if I'm wrong - it came with the Canadian version of the VICmodem).

Re: 40/80 Column board software

That's not my site. I just provided the Data20programs.zip file that was hosted there. I might have a picture of the feature strip from another person's VIC-20, but I never owned the feature strip. I'll see if I can dig that up, but like the photo you just posted, it was taken on an angle so won't b...

Re: 40/80 Column board software

Theoretically you should be able to port any 40/80 column BASIC PET software to this kind of hardware by merely changing the POKE values. Or someone clever could write a program that intercepts PET pokes and translates them on the fly. If you can find PET games that don't use POKEs then they should ...

Commodore trademarks in Canada

Hi, I found this database that lists all the trademarks registered by Commodore Canada (and later owned by Escom) when those companies were active. It lists "Vicessories", "VIC-20", "Commodore 16", several mottos, etc. One interesting this I had never heard of is that C...

Re: Vic20 PC Case

That looks like someone bought the rights/plastic-moulds from the old Commodore USA company run by Barry Altman that existed around 2010 and was making the Commodore 64x PC.
