Game of the decade...
I've mentioned this elsewhere, but I really need as much help as possible as it's simply too difficult for one man to know every new 'home-brew' or 'indie 8-bit' release. So, as this decade is fast drawing to a close at an astonishing rate of one day per day, I'm hoping to do a major retrospective o...

Maplins VIC-20 Voice PCB.
Hello folks, I've also posted this on comp.sys.cbm, and was wondering if anyone here can help. I've found a Maplin VIC-20 Voice PCB, and would like to know if anyone has information about it? It has two 5-pin sockets on it (look like Midi), a 28-pin GI chip and a "pass-though" 9-pin connec...

Re: A RAMLink for the VIC-20 ?
I have started a personnal project consisting in a weird alteration to a Behr Bonz board. It is effectively a 2Mbytes Non volatile RAM expansion for the VIC-20. Here is a nice invitation to Nicolas: With the proper driver software (a modified version of EasyLoad, perhaps), it could effectively beha...

Unfortunately Simon at Cronosoft is having trouble getting the game onto a 1541 floppy so that he can master the tapes. Is there anyone in the UK willing to transfer the latest version of the prg http://www.kweepa.com/step/games/BlueStar.zip to a disk and send it to him, in exchange for a free copy...

Oops. I haven't put up a web page yet.. only two years soon. Try this: http://www.cbm.sfks.se/files/zapactris.zip I must admit, now four years after that it is a bit unplayable. Maybe I'll make a Zapactris V2 that has smooth dropping of pieces and some more features (music?) now when there is not a...

Re: Why would anyone want to own a VIC 20???
Hi guys, I am working on an article for an upcoming issue of Retrogaming Times about why the Vic 20 is such a great platform for classic gaming. But before I finish the article I thought I would ask some of my fellow Vic 20 enthusiasts their opinion. So here is the question, "Why would anyone ...

What VIC-20 games are you currently playing?
Well, I've dug out my VC-20 and I'm currently enjoying a little title called AstroNell from Cronosoft. I also want to find one of my Jelly Monsters cartridges and give that another blast.
What's everyone else playing then...?
Regards,
Shaun.

As far as I know, line numbers themselves always are encoded with the same number of bytes, but in e.g. a GOTO, the line number is literal and will be evaluated at runtime. Thus, GOSUB 2 takes less space than GOSUB 2000. Basic also looks from the beginning of the program for the line number, so bot...
