WIP: Steamed Hams
I wanted to make a quick game for VCFMW convention. It's nothing special, but I wanted to share. I actually made a bunch of changes already based on player reactions. I will post an updated version soon. The ultimate plan is to have a full narrative with minigames. But I'm not sure. Maybe it's bette...

Re: Manuals in other languages
I wonder what are the largest language groups using the VIC 20 now. This board obviously attracts English users, but from bilinguals, we can deduce there may be significant numbers of German, Italian, Swedish, and (Canadian) French users. What else?

Re: Ohio-Indiana-Kentucky USA Vic-20 stuff
If I could figure out a way, I would like them. But I am in Chicago. It's a bit of a drive. I'll update if I can figure out a way. Otherwise, I hope they go to a good home.

Re: Jeff's VIC 20 Book
I just ordered a copy from Amazon. I can't wait to get it! I ordered a spirald one! It can help me a lot during programming. Now I am looking up things in PDF-books. I bought myself a spiral version for Christmas. Thanks again for making this book, Jeff! THank you, all! Your support is ve...

Re: New penultimate-plus-2-cartridge
I enjoyed it the first day I tested it. I just did not know it would be the only day. Really hoping someone can make it useful again.

Re: New penultimate-plus-2-cartridge
Mine died on the second use, and I think support might be ghosting me. Does anyone here feel they might be able to work on one? ..or buy mine as-is? The buttons light up, but I get a black screen now. I tried the "dead test" and tried it on several different VICs running on different Ray C...

Re: Need Vic20 Music/SFX
I did a simple "song" in my 5 line game, "Trails"... here.
In line 4. A is a sound channel and F is just an ever-ascending number in the game loop:
It's a snake game in five lines of BASIC. This was enough music to suffice.

Code: Select all
4 F=F+1:POKEA,(FAND25)+215

XOR in BASIC
Two variations of XOR (in BAISC) have been suggested to me. First: (X AND NOT Y) OR (NOT X AND Y) Then a reviewer (Daivd via GoodReads) suggested this would be better: (X OR Y) - (X AND Y) I would like to have different perspectives. Is this a better solution and should it replace the first one?

Re: Thank You
Thank you for being a part of this, Jason. This community started on a pleasant vibe and used to be much larger than now. It went through a very rough period full of bickering and discontent, but warring parties on both sides eventually lost interest and wandered off to other forums I presume. Occas...
