Re: Software sprites?

This is great. Thanks. I'm looking forward to giving it a go. It might make it possible for me to continue a project a started ages ago but stalled on as I couldn't work out how to implement sprites that didn't tear and flicker.

Re: Help with CC65 Development

Thanks for the pointers, I think I worked out what the problem was...either way I got it working again. I think the problem was that I didn't leave a memory block in the CFG file for the relocated screen RAM, so when I wrote to the new screen I trashed the program. I found the problem by looking at ...

Re: Stable Raster Interrupts

Thanks Beamrider, that is consistent with what I have seen.

Do coders use multiple interrupts per screen or do they tend to keep control of the raster within the one interrput for the whole visible screen. (Does that make sense?)

Re: Software sprites?

I was wondering whether anyone had modified it to interface to C via cc65 or do you have to code in ca65 or BASIC?

Re: Stable Raster Interrupts

I've played with this raster interrupt some more, and when I comment out the sync code in the interrupt code after the timer has been setup and enabled I get horizontal jitter. It appears that there is cycle variation in the timing of when the IRQ occurs. It doesn't appear to be totally stable as Ka...

Stable Raster Interrupts

Sorry to dredge up an old thread and hijack it, but this is the topic I wanted to ask about. I've implemented Marko Makela's stable raster routine from the original article in C-Hacking Issue #10 in cc65. I've modified it a bit to move the effect on the screen (and added it to my existing test code)...

Re: Super Expander

Beyond hope, actually. It's impossible to type in the program from this scan. Richard sent me a version of the program that had been typed in, however with the difficulty in reading the scan it had many errors and they were what I was trying to work out using CBM Prg Studio. The 3D maze program is ...

Re: Super Expander

Home Computing Weekly, Issue 20, 19 July 1983, Page 30, Mazes make the game...here's how to construct them. https://archive.org/stream/home-computing-weekly-020?ui=embed The text is really small and the scan is low resolution. I haven't been able to find a better quality scan of it. I printed it out...

Re: Super Expander

Hi All, I'm the user who asked Arthur to add the Vic20 tokens the CBM Studio. I didn't even know they were different until I started helping another Vic20 user who hosts a site of type-in programs to debug one of his listings that used a Super Expander and was not working. I decided to use CBM Prg S...

Re: Help with CC65 Development

Thanks for the reply Kweepa.

If I uncomment them, it's the first one the code comes across in main().

This code is a mishmash of ideas that I've been working on for the past few years. It was me learning how to program for the VIC-20 hardware.

Help with CC65 Development

I'm finally putting out a call for help. Over the past few years I have been trying, on and off, to get some code that I was working on prior to Uz passing the CC65 maintenance on. Initially I had issues with actually building the program, as the config file changed, and way custom startup code chan...

Re: Video Poker

I recently came across this game while surfing through Boray's website and became quite addicted to it. It's easy to just sit and play. Anyway, I came across what I think is a bug. I like how the game shows you where you have been winning hands and I noticed I hadn't won with a straight very often s...

Re: Minigrafik GIMP Plugin Development

Nearly another year down the track, and still I continue to plug away at my plug-in. I thought it was time I posted an update. I've cleaned up to code a bit and have got it correctly writing out image files (I say correctly, however I think I still have it set so that it auto loads and runs in...

Re: Minigrafik GIMP Plugin Development

It has been quite a while since I've had time to develop this plugin further. I was quite surprised at the interest in my initial trials. I sense from Mike that his preference is to have Minigrafik development done using Minipaint, and I can respect that. However, the sort of development I'm looking...
