Thanks!

Off topic again: is there a comprehensive list of those new VIC releases somewhere? I've only seen a dozen or so games.

Yeah, I couldn't put it down. There were some great anecdotes in there!

For me the most irritating part of the writing was the constant "Peddle explained" "Peddle said" "Peddle claimed" "Peddle ejaculated"... I was almost glad when he left the company.

I note each screen uses 256 characters - I'm assuming you used a type of compression to maximise the number of screens possible? Yup, simple Jet Set Willy style compression - draw character x y times in direction z starting at location, err, Q. Although that was a side benefit of keeping the sprite...

First thought is BUGGERY. It shouldn't look like that. Does it always look that way, or is it random? I just downloaded the D64 and the PRG and played through to that point with each and the room looked fine - the same layout as the first room but with a doorway on the left. I know it's asking a lot...

Spoiler:
Here's the path to take. E2 E3 D3 D2 C2 C1 B1. I just tested it in VICE, and it's fine. Since you got from E3 to D3 you must have the jet pack which is all the equipment you need.
If you've still got problems can you post the set up you're using? Is it a real Vic?

Thanks again for the info, nbla000. I'll get this right yet. Yes, please post the pucrunched version.
This is the last version for the Mega-Cart, unless someone finds something wrong with it :)

This is an awesome game! I think you shouldn't worry about the difficulty level... I only made it to night 4 after several attempts, but I started to get a feel for the game and I don't think it's unfair. Impressive that you got 16 different screen layouts into an unexpanded BASIC program! And I lov...

The first Vic game we had was Commodore's Alien cartridge. I think the only other commercial game we had was Imagine's Arcadia. That got played much more than Alien, despite requiring a load from tape. Galaxia by Romik looks like a more polished version of the same game, but I can't find a ROM to se...

You need to go back and up to get some more equipment.

I suggest you to do just one version for both PAL and NTSC machines with Joy support too. Yes, good idea. I'll look into that. Presumably there's an easy way to autodetect PAL/NTSC. [EDIT] Is reading the vertical screen origin (PEEK(36865)) reliable? Assuming that you use a text file and DASM simpl...

Btw before to add it on Mega-Cart do you think to release a Joy version ? in this case i prefer to add a joy version. Yes, I'd like to do a joystick version and an NTSC version. The architecture changes required for the NTSC version (I'll have to drop from 50Hz to 30Hz since I blew my sprite render...

I think you'll change your mind when you've gotten a little further... Has anyone tried playing this on a real Vic20 yet? If so, any problems? It would be awesome to get on the Mega-Cart! I don't know how that works - does it just load to RAM? There is some self-modifying code in the game. PS "...
