Re: wAxpander with wAx2

maguman wrote: Sun May 26, 2024 4:03 am Quick question. Have you thought about adding the ability to chain files from disk- to allow assembly of much larger programs?
I am not sure if this helps, but the wAx 2.1 Assembler manual discusses user-defined plugins and the wAx SDK from pages 64 through 79. -OGM

Re: Diagnostic Tools for the Vic-20

I am currently attempting to add a RAM1 1k expansion to a cart PCB in order to get a working diag. Part of the fun is to make the tools, and I've learnt more about VIC20 architecture trying to make this diag cart than I originally imagined. Thanks a lot for the help, it really is appreciated! Altho...

Re: Diagnostic Tools for the Vic-20

the Diagnostic ROM is intended to run on a cart that has memory expansion - I am trying to run it on a non-expanded cart. I am new to VIC20 but most software I tried complained when they required a (missing) memory expansion... but not the diag. It seemingly runs OK until it gets these errors. Like...

USA_Joe wrote: Tue May 14, 2024 6:46 pm It's a CR. I have two diagnostics cartridges, and both do the same. Maybe it's CR version related? I don't think I have another CR, but I'll check tomorrow. It's dinner and cold beer time for me.

Thank you!

It could mean that your diag is to blame. Also, which type of VIC-20 is it: "original" or cost-reduced (CR)? -OGM

Re: Switchless JiffyDOS kernal switcher?

Where would be the best place to mount it, which wouldn’t spoil the original look of the Vic? Congrats on upgrading to JiffyDOS , 8bitDenial ! If it were me, I would leave the case intact, route the wires out a preexisting opening, and mount the switch as if it were an external peripheral (but I am...

With minimum intervention I’ve corrected them to get a playable game, but didn’t touch other faults like a ton of typos, incompatible colors or misaligned words. VIC-20 version requires 16K expansion. Type LOAD”YOUNG ART. QUEST”,8 and RUN to play the game if you are ready to encounter the painful e...

Lechuck wrote: Sun Apr 28, 2024 2:18 pm Thanks for that. As the game is using 27 columns, I was asuming it wouldn't look OK in NTSC and was initializing it just for PAL (my bad...). Good to see it might be also 'playable' (to some extent) in NTSC.

Cheers
