Re: Prince of Persia
The ROM table at $EDE4 can be used to obtain useful default values for XPOS and YPOS by applying constant offsets , regardless whether you have a PAL or NTSC VIC-20: $EDE4 contains 12 for PAL and 5 for NTSC, when you substract 5, you get 7 for PAL and 0 for NTSC. $EDE5 contains 38 for PAL and 25 fo...

Re: Prince of Persia
I didn't know you could adjust the screen position with the cursor keys already. You see, I found out about your game from the aforementioned 8-bit guy video and he also said that the game also only works in PAL. So, I got so excited about playing it that I downloaded it and immediately from here. ...

Re: Prince of Persia
Thanks!. Yes, I saw it. When he mentioned he was going to try Prince of Persia in the Atari 400 mini, I thought he might mention the VIC-20 version. And he did, and also showed a short video of itOrangeman96 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 9:23 pm You're famous now: the 8-Bit Guy mentions your work in his latest! -OGM

Re: Prince of Persia
You might as well incorporate a shortcut key that lets NTSC players re-center the screen or even better, just have the game autodetect the video mode and then position the screen accordingly. I guess I can do both. I will initialize it with the correct values depending whether it is PAL or NTSC (fo...

Re: Formula V20 '85
Great game, Huffelduff.
Fully agree that it makes you really feel the speed. Maybe too demanding with the tires? (so far I haven't been able to finish a race without bursting them )
Nice detail the Team selection screen. The colourful car reminded me the old F1 Benetton team...

Re: Prince of Persia
Congratulations! I am following VIC 20 games since 1982. For the system this is the best conversion of a game from far more powerful computers ever written. There. I said it. 😂 The beauty of retro computing is, that there seems to be no ending to surprises like this, year for year. Thank you! Thank...

Re: Prince of Persia
Hi, I have uploaded a new version (1.3) with some fixes/corrections: - When hit from tiles falling from the ceiling, kid was only loosing a live if standing below. Now, the only way to avoid loosing a life is to crouch - Increased dificulty of sword fighting. Now a quick delay is set after attacking...

Re: Prince of Persia
Super very good work!! Thanks! I downloaded pop 1.2, I notice of you hold Fire when running, the release direction but maintain hold Fire , Kids continues run (i do not think it's the night behaviour). You are totally right. It happens as you describe, and no, that is not the right behaviour. I hav...

Re: Prince of Persia
yes, it would have been great to have the 'Prince' drawn in multicolor mode (using three colors as the C64 version), but the losse in resolution, didn't worth it (IMHO). Using Hires allows a very recognizable aspect, even in just Black & White. I think you made the right call there. Thanks. Yes...

Re: Prince of Persia
This looks fantastic! The wall perspective suits the hardware and hides the wide pixels nicely. Good choice to use hires.
