Re: [WIP] VICarate 3.5

status update: grafics - all sprites are finished. - the animations are great. - 5 backgrounds are implemented, inspired by the original IK with and without + - the rest of the game like decoration for scores, ... is done - to do - only some optimizations sound / music - only simple sounds for move...

Re: $200-$258 BASIC Input Buffer and other useful memory

Hi, Robbie, as pointed out by chysn, there's room for small routines in $02A1..$02FF (the so-called program indirects) ... 94 bytes more for my current project sounds good. i've tried to place this small test routine in this area (starts at $02a1): *=$1001 !byte $0b,$08, $e2,$07, $9e, $20, $36, $37...

Re: $200-$258 BASIC Input Buffer and other useful memory

I'm not sure that every location up to $8f can be used. For example : $cb stores the pressed key or $64 for no key. $CB is not in the range $00..$8F. ;) Also, "no key" is 64 decimal in that location, not $64. Ups! This is what happens when you lie on the sofa in the evening and answer thr...

Stored information will be lost here. I don't know if there other addresses which also used in ml.

The 8-Bit-Guy is looking for a vic20 sound routine

Hi out there, in his latest video the 8-Bit-Guy is showing his new game project. It's a kind of adventure with petscii grafic for multiple commodore plattforms. Among others also the vic20 with 32k expansion. https://youtu.be/uyf7tiSO9vo At min. 16:.. he asks for help with the sound routines for the...

Re: [WIP] VICarate 3.5

thx for all comments. i don't know many fighting games for the vic. that's why i try to realize this idea and because when i was a teen, i was a big fan of these kind of games. the players are 2 x 8 each and the background is 32 x 32 pixels. the vic stretches all pixels horizontally so it doesn't lo...

Re: [WIP] VICarate 3.5

hi chysn,

it would be great if i can use your routine.
do you think it can play this jingle?

in my opinion it is the most typical asian song.

it's wunderfully clichéd

[WIP] VICarate 3.5

an IK+ style karate game with tiny simple stickmen for an unexpanded vic-20. written in assembly language. the idea to this game comes to me in the early 90th but i had no idea how to design and animate the 8x8 charaters. i found a member at atariage.com who helped me to design all the animations. P...

Re: Helix Colony for Unexpanded VIC-20

well done. respect, the third AAA-program this year from you. the concept is simple, but brings a lot of fun. i like your feeling for colors and grafics but the song kills my nerves  did you create the font yourself? it looks good. and the best of all: it is for an unexpanded vic! i'm looking ...

Re: does the protovision 4 player adapter work with the vic?

hi mike, why did I know you would answer  ?? but many thanks for that :P . i've replaced $DD03 with $9112 and $DD01 with $9110 from the protovision code but without success. The registers did nothing in the emulator in combination with the (emulated) adapter. i am supprised that google find...
