Re: First computer with cell color attributes?

I was wondering about this a little while back too, and I ended up concluding that it was the Atari 8-bit computers, but I didn't think of the TI-99. Well, this is a little tough to prove. The TI-99/4 (NOT /4A) was released sometime in 1979. But I can't seem to find exactly when. According to Wikipe...

Re: Halloween Game Release: It Came From the Grave

I love this game! Thanks for sharing.

I wish I could come up with simple yet really fun game ideas like this. I've been looking through a lot of small games for old systems for inspiration, but I still find it really, really hard. Do you have some hints on how you come up with your game ideas?

Hey thanks for sharing, that's just too nice of you! \o/ I recently got an SD2IEC for development testing on the Vic-20 and the Plus4, but this is going on it too for sure! :D

Re: Super Mario Bros for VIC-20

Fun idea to port SMB to the c64 and it plays pretty great in my opinion (I don't mind a bit of lag 'n' such if it doesn't make it unplayable) but I really got the urge to play Giana Sisters afterwards though (and I did). :D Somehow it felt good to play a game specifically designed for the c64 afterw...

Re: How to use redefined characters in CC65

Yay! Thanks so much again for the help beamrider, now it works! \o/ I finally found some more clues about that code, it was not only in vic20.h but also in _vic.h unsigned char addr; /* Address of chargen and video ram */ also I (re-)realised VIC = $9000 and found this: http://www.zimmers.net/cbmpic...

Re: How to use redefined characters in CC65

From memory, I think you just need to change $1C00 to $1800 and size of CHARMEM to $0800 MAIN: file = %O, define = yes, start = $120D, fill = yes, size = $1800 - $120D; CHARMEM: file = %O, start = $1800, size = $0800, type = rw, define = yes, fill = yes; RAM1: file = %O, start = $2000, size = $4000...

Re: How to use redefined characters in CC65

Hi guys, I wanted to have 256 user defined characters instead of 128 using beamriders template / 16k cfg, so I tried to make CHARMEM $0800 instead of $0400 in the cfg file, but then I realized VIC can only see the chars if they're in the internal memory. It seems the cfg is set up exactly for 128 ch...

Re: Possible to copy Vic-20 games to diskette and C-cassette on a c64 with the 1541 Ultimate II+?

I just wanted to report here that it worked for me with tape. I took the prg file of the game I'm working on and converted it into a Vic-20 tap file with wavprg, then I recorded the tap file over to c-cassette on the c64 with the ultimate 2+. After that I just loaded that tape on the Vic-20, and it ...

Re: VIC-20 Logo Trademark?

I was also thinking about the C= logo inside the VIC-20 logo. I think it would look nice without the chicken beak too, or maybe with a red hyphen.

Re: VIC-20 Logo Trademark?

Does anyone know how these things work? Is the trademark "protected" for the community as it has ended, or can anyone grab it now? Is it horribly expensive or should the trademark somehow be bought by the VIC-20 community for the VIC-20 community to be used on new games and such, to protec...
