Re: [Ebay] Just another Mt. Drash :)

Thanks, I had no clue why it was that expensive but now I see. Still a great piece of history to see though.

Re: [Ebay] Just another Mt. Drash :)

Why is it that expensive? I could have remolded my house with all that!

Re: [Ebay] Just another Mt. Drash :)

I don't see the point in buying a game that is worth double (even triple) the car I drive everyday.
I guess that some people "have to get them all". :D

Re: HASL for cartridges? (split/OT from: Cheese & Onion)

From what I've been reading I think that norm8332 has the best answer to this, "HASL connectors are not recommended and therefore precautions should be taken when using this device" is a good enough statement.

Re: Cartridge designs released - Eagle PCBs

eprom need to burned/tested and soldered right to the board, no? Ah.., burnt IC's are never any good  I usually always put sockets because de-soldering is a pain. I use the cheaper flat pin sockets, but I might get criticized for that. Anyway you still need to figure out how you will program ...

Re: VIC cartridge PCB eagle

This is an area I really want to learn about. Once one has a board like this, what's the overview on moving forward? I'm a noob with electronics but I'm thinking you get the board and then you have to find the components needed (dip socket, any switches, resistors and such) and then solder it all u...

Re: My first try at EPROMs

I just barely noticed, I was inserting them and the sockets became loose :? . I haven't inserted them since, but now at least I don't have to use a lot of force to insert the pins
Again my bad not being informed.

Re: My first try at EPROMs

I got some time to make better looking adapters. If I can I will try to make a pcb version that way I can spend more time using them instead of making them, seeing that it took me 1/2 an hour to make these two.

Re: VIC-2000 Expander. Modern Power Using Retro Parts!

I know this question is totally off topic, and may sound stupid to some of you, but where do you get your breadboards? The cheap ones on Ebay are horrible and I don't know where to look else. I think someone might know which ones are good or not. Sorry for the intrusive question.

Re: What bandwidth oscilloscope for 1541 alignment?

That's okay, it was just me trying to figure out how to realign my drive in my last post. I'm going to try a realignment as soon as my leads come in the mail because so far I have no way of connecting anything to my scope. Anyway to get back on subject, it will all come down to how much time and mon...

Re: My first try at EPROMs

I think it just comes down to usage. I won't ever need it to program anything complex and it's just what I need. Unless I find a cheap professional one someday

Re: What bandwidth oscilloscope for 1541 alignment?

I'm guessing you might have seen my last post on my 1541 calibration issue. It came down to using an alignment disk or an oscilloscope. I actually ended up buying an oscilloscope, it's a Tektronix 2230 100Mhz digital oscilloscope. The reason why I bought that model is because first I don't like osci...

Re: My first try at EPROMs

I just checked but if your chip is pin compatible with another one, even though they are different markings, and it has the same programming algorithm. Then you can program it, although this doesn't work with all chips.
