Re: VIC-20 Game Cassette REPAIR!

Excellent how-to!

There's a lot of value in the nostalgia of these original bits n pieces... Even if you could find that cassette again on eBay or somewhere, nothing replaces that original that you had as a kid way back when. This is about as close as it's possible to get to that!

Cheers :-)

Re: WTB: light pen

You can find instructions on how to build a lightpen yourself in the docs of this release: http://csdb.dk/release/?id=132880 The docs are a file that can only be run separately on a C64 or in an emulator, but all the info is there. I will have a look and see what's what with that! Be handy to have ...

WTB: light pen

Hey all! I'm keen to start playing around with MINISKETCH on my VIC because I love to doodle! Trouble is, I don't have a light pen. Would anybody have one they would be willing to sell to me? In his thread, Mike mentions that he has tested his program with the Turbo Computer Lightpen, but I'm hoping...

Re: MINIPAINT 1.2

Regards your tweet in https://mobile.twitter.com/forgotten_grove/status/780798743146819584 - you might consider putting an inquiry for a light pen in the Buy, Sell, and Trade section. Excellent plan Mike! We've just had a new baby so my brain is running in low-power state! (now done .) You need at ...

Re: MINIPAINT 1.2

@ForgottenGrove: I see you mention AMX Art for the Acorn Electron on your web site. Including some artworks of yours. The UI of those two programs is amply different (keyboard vs mouse), but how'd you compare the combo MINISKETCH /MINIPAINT with AMX Art? :) P.S. I used an Acorn Archimedes machine a...

Re: Strange behaviour in BASIC

Looks decent :) Next steps, if you have the space for them, a couple of user defined graphics to replace the ASCII characters used, and alter the refresh on the user ship so that it only re-POKEs back to the screen with an update when the user moves. Thank you! Those are good next steps.. I need to...

Re: Strange behaviour in BASIC

Got it sorted! Here's a YouTube video I did of it https://youtu.be/cDP7vjxpeD4

The game is called bOuNcE and it's a 'collect these things in this time' type...

I've saved it to my SD2IEC; when I can find my USB dongle I'll upload a PRG to the pure basic proggies thread on here ;-)

Re: Strange behaviour in BASIC

Thank you! I have to say, the basic on the vic is really nice to work with.. I'm used to BBC basic and there's some nice things I'm coming across. I do miss PROCedures though!

Strange behaviour in BASIC

Hello all! I'm new to the VIC20, so I've been learning the ropes with some basic programming. I've started to write a game and it's got quite lengthy; I haven't quite reached an Out of Memory error, but I have had some strange behaviour... 'Q' has started to appear randomly within my listing; each t...
