Re: Another Vic20 newbie issue
I had some time for more tests, so I ran some scene demos, blind writing load"*",8,1 nad run. The demos worked, the sound was entirely ok, bo I had all sorts of moving garbarge on screen. So is it VIC or Char-rom down?

PSU for older VIC
Hi, I just bought myself an older VIC, with a 2 prong power input.
I have some spare c 64 PSU's , question is can I modify it to use it with my VIC ? I mean just connect 9V and ground. Is anyone using such modification ?

Re: Another Vic20 newbie issue
I will certainly leave the soldering to a professional
The AV cable is OK, works with two C64's.
So, no tutorials for Vic-20 NTSC->Pal conversions are available ?

Re: Another Vic20 newbie issue
I thought so, I just checked out some scene demos on winVICE using PAL and NTSC settings... I definitely want it in PAL
So is there a list of parts I should replace to convert it ?
Also, based on the screenshot above, do you think that this is a Char-rom, or VIC issue ?
cheers

Re: Another Vic20 newbie issue
Ok, I found out myself, that it's usually a VIC chip issue: UB7 6560-101 VIC VIDEO/AUDIO White or blank screen, garbled or no video, screen full of (or few random) "garbage" characters. "Blind" disk commands may still work. Partial failure: Dark or smeary image, loss of color, ga...

Another Vic20 newbie issue
Hi! I just got myself a nice Vic-20 of an auction site. The mainboard looks flawless, but after powering up I get a grey screen, on which I can clearly see the frame and border, and some vertical lines instead of letters, and even some sign of cursor blinking. When I press the keys I can see somethi...
