Re: Monopole (Monopoly) VIC + 24K

Nice attempt at porting BASIC V2 goodies to the Vic 20! Porting this would have been like my Telengard port - the screen size and slightly tighter basic RAM will stretch you to rework the program fairly considerably. I used the C64 PRG Studio to mangle the BASIC code for Telengard. I have to say tha...

Re: MPF II Hebdogiciel Thread

Neo-Rio: In case we ever get to them, is there a proper list of them we could consult? Thanks for the info. Oh, you noticed my Hebdogiciel type-in rampage on the C64? :) So happy to know that you guys finished off the rest of them. I didn't attempt Manior II because it was unfinished. The only prop...

Re: MPF II Hebdogiciel Thread

Hey guys, When you have finished doing everything in Hebdogiciel, there is a pile of C64 type-ins that need doing from the Gamebase project. (The Extras, Listings collection has them all) Mind that some have already been completed since v15, so check the gamebase webpage forums if interested. ....If...

Re: VIChaos

Well, I'll be damned. That is some fine pixeling! Now someone do decent sfx. ;) Still need to teach us VIC noobies how to use your sound editor. :D I managed to code some sound in BASIC in my port of Telengard, but your sound editor is something else. I have the vic-20 reference manual here, so any...

Can't start Vic cartridges from VICE xvic command line

I was mucking about with RetroPie trying to get CRT vic-20 cart games to start from the command line, but I keep hitting an error. Then I tried it in Windows.... same problem Note that I'm using Vice-3.0 on both. xvic.exe -cartgeneric "<path to crt>" I get : Argument "<path to crt>&qu...

Re: WIP - mystery port #1

No correct guesses this round. No sound contributions either, so it's time to unveil this mystery. For your collective disappointment: the port is of Chaos - the Battle of Wizards. WIP 1 is attached; beware of bugs. I had a muck about with the sound editor, but without good instructions for what I ...

Re: WIP - mystery port #1

Hmm... well I must be been close...

Will it be a Vic-20 port of GAUNTLET? At long last?
Or perhaps Wizard of Wor?
Also occurred to me that Montezuma's Revenge, Bruce Lee, and even Spy vs Spy could be candidates.

Re: WIP: Doom

Probably best to downgrade to 22d again.

22e has issues with trying to flash programs to the firmware for the cart menu.
It doesn't work and the menu locks up.

Re: WIP: Doom

The only thing I've found with 22e is that the cart flasher seems broken. It seems to crash or reload the menu when I try to select a program to flash. Otherwise my LOADER files work OK in the disk menu.... Is this just my FE3 not working or do other people find the same thing with this firmware? No...

Re: WIP: Doom

What firmware are you using? Try using the latest "unofficial" version: 22e I'm using it, and it fixes a few issues with the disk menu, but maybe it also fixes your issue? http://www.vroomen.de/vc20/fe3/firmware/FE3FirmwareR022E.zip I have a PAL, second revision VIC-20 with FEe rev10 using...

Re: $B

Nice game.

Reminds me of a similar minimalist game that could probably work easily on an unexpanded VIC, similar to Tetris called "Shades"
Although that game requires shaded blocks, the VIC still has numbers.

Awesome port!

We still don't have Wizard of Wor on the VIC, but this is the next best thing!
GREAT STUFF! 8)

Interesting. So that solves this mystery!
