Re: New Release: Demons of Dex

The amount of positive vs. negative feedback is so wildly unbalanced that the many, many hours I spent working on the project were a waste of my time and energy. Which is a real shame. I really enjoyed this game and would recommend it to anyone with a VIC. I'm sorry things have worked out like this...

Re: (wip) Exit Plan Z

After a few tries, I managed to get 3809 on relatively difficult. All the improvements you made are great. My only compliant is the controls still. Sometimes I move twice when I meant to move just once. Sometimes I want to pick something up and the fire button doesn't respond the first time. Other t...

Re: (wip) Exit Plan Z

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply, I've been a bit under the weather. The game looks great, but the responsiveness of the movement controls has taken a big hit. Is there anything you can do to improve it. In the third release it was very playable, but now it's kinda of annoying. Sorry, I guess yo...

Awesome! I'll give it a thorough whirl after the weekend.

Re: Writes to $9010-$901F

Mike, thanks again for a detailed and highly educational reply. so you inevitably "shot" some register contents in VIA #1 during your attempts I had no idea . Generally, using mirrors instead of the standard base addresses of the I/O chips is not a good idea. Of course the hardware o...

Writes to $9010-$901F

I have a quick question for you more experienced guys here.

Is writing to the mirrored VIC registers at $9010-$901F "safe"? My copy of "Mapping the VIC" says to avoid it, but I didn't have any problems when fooling around with them.

Great work! I've been playing this off and on since you posted. I still can't figure out "WHIRL" and "AVOID"... Please, no spoilers .

Re: (wip) Exit Plan Z

The snap shot movie would be awesome :) Would you mind making one of the final product after I've finished the game? Sure thing. I still haven't beaten it though. I get really far conserving my flame thrower, then get complacent toward then end and don't use it when I really need to start being car...

Re: (wip) Exit Plan Z

I finally got a chance to try this game out, and I have to say that I like it! I played totally blind my first time, and my only problem was figuring out what all the collectable symbols were for. I'm going to continue playing to see if I can't beat it. As far as custom characters go, they would pro...

Re: (not so new) Release: Improbable War

I hadn't played this one yet. Just tried it out for the first time and won! Seemed pretty straightforward to me after briefly going over the manual. I'm afraid I can't make any suggestions.

Re: Silly Keyboard Cleaning Question

That's horrible Mike!

From what I gather through searching the forum, eslapion had success with the Chemtronics Circuit Works CW2605 Rubber Keypad Repair Kit.

By the way, Merry Christmas to everyone (if you're into that sort of thing :D).

Re: Silly Keyboard Cleaning Question

These rubber pads are to be cleaned as gently as possible, as you say it will remove the conductive material from the fragile old pads. Thanks. That is what I was afraid of. 1. Get some conductive paint and paint it on. 2. What I have done, which is to use a paper hole punch and punch out some smal...

Silly Keyboard Cleaning Question

Hi everyone. My VIC's keys have lost their sensitivity, so I've decided to give them a little cleaning. I've cleaned the gold contacts with a rubber pencil eraser and wiped them down with rubbing alcohol, however, I'm not sure what to do about the rubber beneath the keys. I read here about using cop...

Re: Other Native Symbolic Assemblers

The only one that will run on the unexpanded VIC is Develop-20. Though, you could put Assam or Mikro Assembler on a cartridge if you wanted to and run them without expanded memory.
