Early VIC-20 motherboard repair

Hi, I've been trying to repair an early VIC-20 model, with the same motherboard as the VIC-1001, with no luck. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3206018/EarlyVIC20Repair/motherboard_mini.jpg full resolution I've already checked the chips identified in the Carlsen guide as blank screen culprits. Al...

VIC20 refuses to load carts

Hi, I'm in a repairing spree this summer (this is my 3rd this month!) and in a dead end: This one starts ok, but refuses to load from any cartridge. I've tried with a game one, previously tested on a fully working computer, with no luck. I've tested with the diagnostic cart + 3K (actually a superexp...

Re: VC20 (no serial number)

ouch! tha thurts!

That has happened to me a couple of times. The sellers just put everything in a box and send by mail. The transformator banging the keyboard from all directions broked a few keys a couple of times.

Sorry to see that happening to our babies :-(

Anyone from Canada?

Hi,
I'd like to buy some stuff from Canada but the seller doesn't ship outside the country :-(
I was wondering if anyone from there could proxy the package for me.

PM me if you can help, please

Thanks a lot

Re: VIC 20 book on Kickstarter

Even being spanish my mother tonge, I would only publish the book in english. Perhaps, and I repeat perhaps, later, after the first batch of books comes out, I'd consider other languages. Perhaps the reward to those who help you on the translation could be a printed copy of the translated copy itsel...

Re: PAL silver label vic20

I've seen those PSUs before with early Atari 8 bit (400/800 models) sold in UK, branded Tadmod,. Those computers have also 9vAC power sources, so they should be an OEM PSU builder used on early machines sold there. There were early Europe logo PSK machines. Actually I have a couple of them. https://...

Re: PAL silver label vic20

Hi, Does it has actually a silver label or a golden one like the USA model? I scored some time ago a PET-keyboard VIC on Australia and it has a silver/golden label, t's made in Japan, serial number 532068. The motherboard is the second model, not the first VIC20-E nor the third VIC20-CR and the VIC ...
