I got three cartridges, two from UMI (Satellites and Meteorites, and Cloudburst) and Sierra On-Line's Threshold. I had to dismantle Threshold to get the cartridge board out, because it'd gotten halfway stuck inside the housing, but once I stuck that board into the Vic, it worked fine.

I second all that, and wish I'd had the space and eloquence to write that review when I mentioned the Collection on Retrogaming Times Monthly. I just finished the beta version of a game on a 48K platform, and I ran out of memory. I actually thought of Jeff, and was embarrassed that I'd squandered so...

I just picked up UMI's Cloudburst and Satellites and Meteorites. Both of them have shells so big, I literally had to pry up the corner of my Vic to get them to fit in the cartridge slot. Ridiculous!

I really like Cloudburst, though. Nice twist on the typical invader-from-above game.

I think the Radio Shack computers did well here, especially in small towns like the one where I grew up, because they had so many shops. We didn't have any kind of dedicated computer store until the late 80's, so you had to buy at a department store (Kmart, etc - Wal-Mart was not this far north yet)...

Success! I tried a different Datasette and got Time Destroyers and Blockbuster to both load in. After all that, neither of them were very good, unfortunately... :/ but at least they work! Mayhem, assume I'm new and slightly stupid. What do you need me to do to help you add Math Duel to gb20? I have ...

Is there a document online to explain aligning datasettes, or is that something best left to an expert? And does said expert want a box of my datasettes to tinker with? :) My other TRonix game, Galactic Blitz, loaded with no problem. Also got my "Action Games" pak from Creative Software to...

I actually GOT my first Vic 20 in 2007 or 2008... couldn't get it hooked up properly, put the whole lot (including lots of games and tapes) in a box and forgot about it, amid my piles of other stuff. Not sure what sparked my interest again but I picked up several more VIC lots on Ebay, and finally g...

Was gonna post a bunch of stuff and take photos, but now a couple of the tapes won't load properly and I'm all cranky about it. I keep getting "OUT OF DATA" errors, to the point where it's making me wonder if something's wrong with my Vic or my datasette, not the tapes themselves. I'm addi...

One of my all-time favorite mindless shoot-em-ups because of its variations, and its increase in speed and difficulty. The first time you hit "THAT" level and the real s**tstorm begins, is one of the all time "WTF?!" moments in classic gaming. If my 1541 wasn't out of alignment, ...

I picked up a few cassette games the other day, and just got around to testing them tonight. I got City Bomber/Minefield and an "action game" three-pack, boxed, from Creative Software. I also picked up in the same lot, a couple tapes with French and English instructions in the insert card,...

I've got someone I'm supposed to show my next TI game to when it's finished for that same purpose. He's a friend-of-a-friend and a colleague at one of my freelance outlets, so I don't know much about him yet, but if it turns out to be a good connection I can pass it along. (As long as he doesn't dit...

> I'm just waiting for someone with skills in Objective C to help make the iphone port. :p Not sure if you're joking or not here, but you should consider finding someone to do this. This game deserves to be seen by more people, and making a few bucks off it as an app wouldn't be the worst thing ever...

Fun topic! I dropped out of college to play in a rock and roll band and write. 18 years later, I'm still playing in bands, though I've never made a living at it. I make part of my living now by freelancing, mostly music writing. I also started a little Ebay business that eventually turned into a ful...

Denial Collection 3 in Retrogaming Times Monthly

I just turned in my first column for Retrogaming Times Monthly, what will be a monthly series on third-party cassette-based games for various retro platforms. For my inaugural column, I wrote a bit about Denial Collection 3 and raved (still more) about Jeff's programming skills. :) http://www.retrog...

This is my first year in the Vic world, having just gotten my first Vic-20 up and running a couple months ago. I've received lots of advice, encouragement, and friendliness here at Denial, and it's really helped me to get to know this great computer. Denial Collection 3 was one of the best Christmas...
