Re: QUIKMAN 2008 for the unexpanded VIC 20

This updated 2014 version is zipped and available to download . I will commit the source code to its SVN repository later today (hopefully). You can also play the game online courtesy of JarVIC. Two things: 1- Thank you so much for this and your other amazing bits of VIC magic. 2- the download link...

Re: Re:

Good job on the Wiki entry. I wish Avalon Hill had made a version of Telengard for the VIC-20. I think Telengard would be an ideal candidate for a VIC-20 port - as the C64 graphics are not that complex, and it is a classic and popular game! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telengard I would be ESTATIC ...

Re: The Ultimate Expander... the end of a nice story

Its funny to think about it but it brings back nice memories. It sure does. What a great product that was, and is. I still have a couple prototypes around here somewhere, and it was fun writing up the user instructions for you. Has it really been that long ago?!? Wow. My Ultimate Expander never lea...

Thinning the herd

I'm paring down my VIC collection. If anyone is looking for books, carts, cart expanders, etc. drop me a PM and maybe I can help you out.

I don't have a list, and it'll all hit eBay eventually. I'm just grabbing a few things from the pile each week and putting it up for sale.

Re: Looking for 35K RAM expansion or simple slot expander

Or is Eslapion still around? I remember he made some RAM-expansion too, but the page is down and I think they were only 32K as well. I created and hosted that page for Eslapion. I haven't heard from him in a long, long time so I took it down. I dunno if he's still around or not. I have an extra 32K...

I used to have a pristine 1540. In a fit of temporary insanity I traded it to Schema for some stuff. Such a great looking disk drive, especially paired to the VIC.

Sorry to dig up an old thread on what is, I guess, an old game now. But I can't help it. I just discovered this a few weeks ago and since then I have played it, played it, and then played it some more. This is a great game!

Been Away A While

I've been away from VIC things for a long time. I just set mine back up a few weeks ago and have been working to catch up with all the new software from the past couple of years. All I can say is WOW. Wow, I said. I'll say it again: Wow. I am absolutely bowled over by the quality of all these new ga...

Years ago I modified the VIC version of MLX, Compute!s program for entering their type-in ML listings, to work with the Atari numeric keypad. I might have that somewhere, but it was pretty simple. Just a matter of figuring out which joystick direction/fire button combos map out to which keys. If I r...

In any case, I'm not going to cripple the functionality of my VIC20s, period. I like being able to get full functionality of my VIC when connected to my preferred TV sets and monitors. You keep saying things like this. Here's where I'm not understanding you, apparently. How would having S-Video out...

That isn't what I wrote. Read it again, carefully. The intent was, and is, obvious. I know it wouldn't make a dramatic difference on a 1702--even with the C64's higher resolution there's at best a minor visible difference between using the composite input and the S-video input. The specifics of the...

I have an intimate knowledge of how it works on the C64, along with first hand experience on the display hardware in question, and the theoretical knowledge to comprehend why the signal from the C64 is essentially the same (if you're using plain 160x200 low resolution mode rather than 320x200 hires...
