Well, the more I used the VIC, the more I realized it's a little "too" retro. Although the 2600 was the first system I played on (quite a bit, too), I was really raised on the NES and the C64 is more representative of that era for me. 2600/VIC games rarely hold my interest anymore, but I c...

Unloading my VIC-20 Collection :(

Hey all, I'm thinking of getting rid of my VIC stuff in favor of a C64. I know, I know... Anyway, I found my VIC at a thrift store about 2 years ago, took it home and cleaned it up. If you dig around, you can probably find the thread where I took the whole thing apart and individually scrubbed each ...

Jeff, keep me posted -- we can figure out a decent price and then I may 'donate' the unpopular titles to 6502Dude's cause.

I'm kinda getting away from my tendency to 'collect.' I mentioned in another thread I've sold close to 200 of my NES carts over the past couple months. They're cool to have around for nostalgic purposes and everything, but really -- do I need four boxes of Nintendo games? Right now my VIC cartridges...

Selling all my VIC-20 carts to put toward a Mega-Cart

Hope you all don't have the same idea. Individual carts or the lot, whatever. Buyer pays shipping, but I'll ship as cheap as humanly possible (I'm in Portland, OR). Adventure Land Artillery Duel Atlantis Avenger Buck Rogers: Planet of Zoom Cosmic Cruncher Donkey Kong Final Orbit/Bumper Bash Ghost Ma...

I'm thoroughly impressed. Sounds like this is the cart to own, and exactly what I'm looking for. Two more questions: - How much are you selling these for and - Is there enough interest in the original cartridges to sell them off here? Even if I sold them for a dollar a piece, $30 toward a Megacart s...

"Streamlining" my collection

Hey all, haven't been around for a while -- got a quick question. I've recently moved into a smaller apartment and I just have entirely too much clutter (I've already sold about 150 of my NES carts). I have a box of VIC-20 stuff and would like to clear out some carts. So here's the problem: I've don...

I can also attest to the effectiveness of pencil erasers. Alcohol alone didn't seem to do the trick for me.

This is one of the best shows on TV right now, and one of my favorite series of all time. Season 1 just came out on DVD. The joke is one of many running gags that play on how out of touch New Zealand (the country from which the main characters hail) is. Obviously they exaggerate a little bit. Though...

After playing loads of games in MAME, I've realized that almost all my favorite games were made in the period 1978-1984: Galaga, Galaxians, Gorf, Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, Tempest, Defender, Spy Hunter, Pole Position, Time Pilot, Scramble, Asteroids, 1942... Then you would love that arcade I wen...

When I flew out to Portland a couple weeks back to check it out, I totally fell in love with a retro arcade there called Ground Kontrol. It's basically all 80's - early 90's games. Spent lots of quarters on Gorf and Robotron. I think there will always be an market for the arcade, however small. They...

I like the wallpaper. It almost looks like a heat transfer or something; never would have guessed that was just glue.

A couple days ago I added an Atari 800XL auction to my "watched" list on one of my favorite auction sites, but then spaced it out and missed the ending! It sold for $16. Would have loved to have that.

Alternatively, if zhx has a regular tape recorder, he could use wav-prg to make a wave file and play it back on the sound card connected to the tape recorder. It requires a few audio cables though, but on the good end is that he can transfer just any software titles he wants. What program would I b...
